1993 – erstmals Staatsmeisterschaften

Durch das Wetterdesaster im Vorjahr sank die Teilnehmerzahl der 6. Austragung, die am 11. September 1993 durchgeführt wurde, auf rund 300 Teilnehmer aus 16 Nationen. Dieses Mal erwartet die Starter allerdings Kaiserwetter. Durch die Anerkennung des Triathlonsports als offizielle Sportart durch die Bundessportorganisation (BSO) werden in Podersdorf zum ersten Mal österreichische Staatsmeisterschaften über die Triathlon-Langdistanz ausgetragen. Den Bewerb sicherte sich der Niederländer Richard van Diesen, der den Streckenrekord auf 8:28:54 drücken konnte und sich neben dem Preisgeld die Prämie eines neuen Autos im Wert von 120.000 Schilling (ca. 8.700 Euro) holte. Bei den Damen ging der Sieg nach Deutschland. Minika Lidmila gewinnt in 10:17:01.

1993 – first Austrian Championships

Due to the weather disaster in the previous year, the number of participants in the 6th meeting, which was held on September 11, 1993, fell to around 300 participants from 16 nations.
